Wednesday’s Word – God is always there!

Matthew 28:18-20  ‘Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”’  https://my.bible.com/bible/111/MAT.28.18-20

“And surely I am with you always …”. What a great reminder for us today! God is always there. He is never ‘not with us’. As a believer, Jesus Christ lives inside each one of us (John 14:20, 15:4-5).

Matthew 8:23-26 offers us another great reminder that God is always with us even in the midst of a storm:  ‘Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.’  https://my.bible.com/bible/111/MAT.8.23-26

The storm was raging … the waves were crashing. But Jesus was right there. Sleeping. On the boat – in the middle of a storm! There is so much here to take away and apply in our own personal lives. First of all, Jesus is right there with us in the middle of our storm. Truth. Fact. Scripture-proven. Second, He was sleeping! Not shaken or startled at all by what was going on around Him. Why? How? Well, yes, He is God and created the very winds and waves that were raging. And so He has all authority over those same winds and waves. But here’s the key: He was at rest with His Father who is always with Him … they are One. And in John, Jesus declares in a prayer that we can be one with Jesus and God the Father. A perfect union to let the world know how much God loves each one of us (John 17:21-23).

So be encouraged today, and every day, that God is always with us through His Son Jesus Christ, who made the ultimate sacrifice to bring us all together, as one!

Be Blessed!
