John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! https://www.bible.com/bible/111/JHN.1.29
The reason Jesus came:
- To take away our sins: ‘But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. ‘ 1 John 3:5 https://my.bible.com/bible/111/1JN.3.5
- To destroy the devil’s work: ‘…The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. ‘ 1 John 3:5,8 https://my.bible.com/bible/111/1JN.3.5,8
- To seek and to save that which was lost: ‘For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” ‘ Luke 19:10 https://my.bible.com/bible/111/LUK.19.10
To put it simply, Jesus came to fix that which was broken. The bible says that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin represents brokenness. Separation. Separation from God. Jesus is the bridge that takes away our sin and brings us back to God. Like a bridge, Jesus laid down His life for us so that we could come back to God sinless and clean, as if we never ever sinned. How awesome is that?!! It always feels good to be clean, doesn’t it?! Only Jesus can make us clean and take away our sins. He is the only one that can do this. And He does just that!
So be thankful and give Him praise if you’ve been washed clean by the blood of the lamb … “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
Be blessed!
