‘We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. ‘ Romans 12:6-8 https://my.bible.com/bible/111/ROM.12.6-8
We all have different gifts. What is yours? The Bible details some of the more notable ones in Romans chapter 12. Gifts of serving, teaching, encouraging, to name a few. And in 1 Corinthians 12:4, Paul describes the spiritual gifts given to us by the Holy Spirit for the common good of all.
Our use of these gifts that God has given to each of us are vital to the overall spiritual health of the Church. Paul describes the Church as one body made up of many different parts. The body (the Church) cannot function well without each part. And each part needs the other. When each part is thriving, the body as a whole will be healthy and well. 1 Corinthians 12:18 says, ‘But in fact God has arranged the parts of the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.’
So what is your gift? And how are you using it? I believe mine is exhortation: to encourage others. So I encourage you: put your God-given gift into practice today to be a blessing to others. The body needs you!
Have a blessed day!
